Editorial policies
Open access policies:
Horizonte Sanitario magazine promotes the dissemination of knowledge through the open access model.
It is committed to disseminating published works in open access indexing services.
Publication costs:
Articles are available in full text, free of charge, on the internet. The magazine does not charge authors any fees for the submission, editing, or publication of manuscripts.
License for use:
Horizonte Sanitario journal is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA). This license allows the published work to be distributed, remixed, retouched, and built upon in a non-commercial manner, provided that the respective credit is given and new creations are licensed under the same conditions, i.e., to distribute, remix, retouch, and build upon the published work.
Time between receipt of articles and publication:
Horizonte Sanitario Journal has the following estimated times:
- The time between receipt and the first response from reviewers is 2 weeks.
- The time between receipt and the estimated time for publication is 2 months.
Self-archiving policies:
Horizonte Sanitario journal allows self-archiving of published articles at the time of publication and in post-print editorial version in institutional, thematic, or personal web repositories.
Copyright
All authors must meet the four criteria for authorship according to the ICMJE:
- There must be a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the article or to the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of the data.
- There must have been participation in the design of the research work or in the critical review of its intellectual content.
- There must have been involvement in the approval of the final version to be published.
- They must be able to respond to all aspects of the article to ensure that issues related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are adequately investigated and resolved.

- The contents of the articles are the responsibility of the authors.
- The Editorial Committee is not responsible for issues related to copying, plagiarism, or fraud that may appear in the articles published therein.
- Authors are responsible for obtaining the necessary permissions to reproduce any material protected by copyright. When photographs or personal data are to be reproduced and disseminated in print or digital form, informed consent is required. Therefore, this requirement is demanded of authors at the time of receipt of the manuscript.
- Authors retain moral rights and assign economic rights to Horizonte Sanitario magazine to publish articles on its website, in brochures, on social media, distribute electronic copies, include them in indexing services, directories, national and international database repositories, under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International Commercial License (CC BY-NC-SA).
- Authors will sign the declaration of transfer of economic rights to the journal Horizonte Sanitario after acceptance of the manuscript.
- Authors may not withdraw the manuscript once it has been approved for publication. Otherwise, they will be responsible for the costs of the process. If they withdraw it before approval, they must send an official statement approved by all authors.
- The Editorial Committee reserves the right to reject articles whose authors do not provide satisfactory explanations in the submission letter regarding each author's contribution, in order to comply with the authorship criteria in the submission letter.
- The Editorial Committee is not responsible for issues related to copying, plagiarism, or fraud that may appear in published articles.
