Advertising, Marketing, and Visibility Policy

Horizonte Sanitario journal is committed to the ethical and responsible dissemination of knowledge. In strict accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Principles of Transparency and Best Practices in Scholarly Publishing, the following guidelines are established:

1. Advertising and Editorial Independence. To ensure scientific objectivity and avoid any conflict of interest, Horizonte Sanitario does not accept paid commercial advertising associated with third-party products, services, or companies.

  • Editorial independence: Editorial content and decisions regarding the acceptance or rejection of manuscripts are based exclusively on scientific merit, originality, and relevance to public health and health administration, and will never be influenced or compromised by financial interests, sponsors, or marketing decisions.
  • Separation of Content: The journal maintains a strict separation between scientific content and any form of institutional information. Promotional advertisements are not inserted within articles or on the website.
  • Health Protection: Given the nature of the journal, any promotion of products that are harmful to health, as well as advertisements that are misleading or deceptive, is categorically rejected.

2. Direct marketing. In accordance with COPE guidelines, any direct marketing activity conducted on behalf of the journal (such as inviting and soliciting manuscripts from researchers) will be carried out in an appropriate, targeted, and non-intrusive manner.

  • All information provided to authors or readers regarding the journal’s objectives, scope, and indexing status is completely accurate and non-misleading.
  • The databases and email addresses registered on the OJS platform will be used exclusively for the journal’s editorial purposes and will not be provided to third parties for commercial or third-party marketing purposes.

3. Visibility and Institutional Communication Strategy. The sole purpose of Horizonte Sanitario’s visibility strategy is to strengthen the circulation, accessibility, and social impact of scientific knowledge. Institutional communication is limited to the dissemination of exclusively academic information, such as calls for papers, the publication of new issues, and scientific events.

To maximize its global reach on a nonprofit basis, the journal disseminates its content through its official website and institutional social media channels:

Additionally, the journal leverages its extensive network of prestigious international databases and indexes (such as SciELO, Redalyc, DOAJ, Dialnet, among others), which enable citation tracking and impact analysis through enriched and standardized metadata, thereby strengthening our Open Science model.
