Copyright Policy
Authorship Criteria
All authors of a manuscript must comply with the four authorship criteria established by the ICMJE:
- They must have made a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the article, or to the collection, analysis, or interpretation of the data.
- That the author has participated in the design of the research or in the critical review of its intellectual content.
- That the author has been involved in the approval of the final version to be published.
- That the author is able to account for all aspects of the article, in order to ensure that issues related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are adequately investigated and resolved.
The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject articles whose authors do not provide satisfactory explanations in the submission letter regarding each author’s contribution to meeting these criteria.
Authors' Responsibilities
- The content of the articles is the sole responsibility of the authors.
- The Editorial Board is not responsible for any issues related to copyright infringement, plagiarism, or fraud that may appear in published works.
- Authors are responsible for obtaining the necessary permissions to reproduce any material protected by copyright.
- When photographs or personal data are to be reproduced and disseminated in print or digital form, informed consent is required. This requirement is imposed on authors upon receipt of the manuscript.
Transfer of Rights and License
- Authors retain moral rights over their work and transfer economic rights to the journal Horizonte Sanitario. This transfer includes the right to publish articles on the website, in brochures, and on social media, as well as to distribute electronic copies and include them in indexing services, directories, and national and international database repositories.
- All content will be published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA) license.
- To make this assignment effective, authors must sign the Letter of Originality and Assignment of Rights to the journal Horizonte Sanitario after the manuscript has been accepted.
Withdrawal of Manuscripts
- Authors may not withdraw a manuscript once it has been accepted for publication. If they do so, they will be responsible for the costs associated with the process.
- If authors decide to withdraw the manuscript prior to acceptance, they must submit an official statement duly approved and signed by all authors.
