Objective: To validate the Work-Related Quality of Life Scale-2 (WRQLS-2) among nursing staff at the General Hospital of Zone with Family Medicine No. 2 of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in Irapuato, Mexico.
Materials and Methods: A total of 200 nurses participated voluntarily in the study. The WRQLS-2 scale was administered, and an exploratory factor analysis was conducted to examine the internal structure of the instrument. The reliability of each factor was assessed using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient.
Results: The factor analysis revealed seven dimensions: work commitment, job control, working conditions, well-being, stress, career satisfaction, and work-life interface. The scale demonstrated strong construct validity and internal consistency, with Cronbach’s alpha values exceeding 0.70 for most factors.
Conclusions: The validation of the WRQLS-2 questionnaire provides us with a valid and reliable tool to assess the quality of work life of nursing staff at the Mexican Institute of Social Security in Irapuato, Mexico. Its application will make it possible to identify areas for improvement in the work environment, contributing to the well-being of the staff and the quality of the medical care offered.
