CALL FOR PAPERS

2026-04-22

Recognizing the importance of disseminating scientific knowledge generated in the field of health sciences, with an emphasis on clinical, administrative, and community aspects related to the humanization of care, the journal "Horizonte Sanitario", published by the Juárez Autonomous University of Tabasco, invites the academic and professional community to contribute to the special issue:

“Humanizing Care: Advances from Scientific Research”

From this perspective, humanized healthcare is structured as a comprehensive theoretical and practical approach, grounded in the best available scientific evidence and in fundamental ethical principles that guide professional practice. This vision views the individual as a unique, irreplaceable, multidimensional being endowed with intrinsic dignity, whose care needs cannot be focused exclusively on clinical conditions or the pathological process they are undergoing.

In this context, humanized healthcare goes beyond a conventional biomedical approach, as the humanization of care requires a comprehensive understanding of the health-illness process that allows for the integrated incorporation of a person’s emotional, psychological, behavioral, social, cultural, and spiritual dimensions in relation to their personal, group, family, and community environments. This approach fosters comprehensive care that is sensitive to the context of social interaction and centered on the unique characteristics of each individual, recognizing the complexity of the human experience in the face of the health and illness process.

As a result, the humanization of care has become an indispensable and significant component of contemporary health care systems, serving as a priority area for the generation of scientific knowledge. For this reason, addressing it through research helps to consolidate comprehensive, equitable, and person-centered practices, thereby fostering innovation in models of health care delivery and management. In this context, it is crucial to promote scientific research and the dissemination of evidence that contribute to consolidating the humanization of care in clinical, administrative, and community settings.
