Complaints and Appeals Policy
The journal Horizonte Sanitario is committed to transparency, quality, and rigor in its editorial process. For this reason, it has established a formal mechanism to address any concerns that may arise during the review, editing, or post-publication stages of manuscripts.
Receipt of Complaints and Claims
Any author, reader, reviewer, or member of the editorial board who wishes to file a complaint, claim, appeal an editorial decision, or request clarification must do so formally in writing.
If there are complaints or appeals from readers or other parties, the interested parties must send a properly identified and signed letter (anonymous documents are not accepted) to the Editorial Board via email at horizontesanitario@ujat.mx, mandatorily specifying the following information:
- A duly justified subject.
- Full name of the interested party or parties.
- Basic contact information: email address and phone number.
- Place and date.
Similarly, if any reader or other involved party suspects the occurrence of any inappropriate practice or ethical violation, they must notify the Editorial Team as soon as possible.
Procedure for Handling, Investigating, and Responding to Complaints
- Once the letter has been reviewed and it has been determined that it contains sufficient grounds to justify the complaint or appeal, the Editorial Committee will respond to and resolve the matter, ensuring that the process is handled in a timely, clear, and respectful manner at all times.
- The editor-in-chief will thoroughly investigate any complaint or report of inappropriate conduct, requesting, if necessary, a formal explanation from those involved.
- The journal strictly adheres to the Code of Conduct of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Therefore, any ethical violation or complaint regarding the editorial process will be investigated in strict accordance with this organization’s guidelines.
- Upon completion of the review and corresponding investigation, the party or parties involved will receive a personalized, detailed, and reasoned response regarding the final resolution of their case.
