• Silvia Isabel Martínez-Calvo, National School of Public Health. Cuba

  Doctor in medicine. Specialist in Epidemiology. She has a doctorate in Medical Sciences and a Doctor of Sciences from the University of Medical Sciences of Havana. Titular teacher. Professor of Merit. Consulting Professor at the National School of Public Health. Researcher of Merit by the Cuban Academy of Sciences. Publication of 22 books and book chapters and more than 70 scientific articles related to epidemiology, public health and the training of human resources for health in national and international journals. Participation in more than 200 scientific events with the presentation of 114 works. Design and execution of more than 50 postgraduate programs and courses in Epidemiology and Public Health in centers and universities in Cuba, Mexico, Brazil, Ecuador, Spain, Colombia and Guatemala. Temporary consultancy for PAHO / WHO since 1981. Design and execution of more than 30 investigations in the field. Tutoring and/or advising of more than 50 postgraduate theses (20 awarded). She has received various recognitions for her professional, teaching and research work inside and outside Cuba. She is an Honorary Member of the Cuban Society of Public Health.
