Alcohol consumption in adolescence is considered a serious public health problem today. The World Health Organization pointed out in 2018 that more than a quarter of adolescents from 15 to 19 years old were drinkers, with the negative repercussions that this habit has for their health in the short and long term. The practice of physical activity is an important conditioning factor of people's health, being considered as an indicator of healthy life and a protective factor against risky behaviors in adolescence. In the study of these two habits (physical activity and alcohol consumtion), research mostly indicates that young people who practice physical activity show less alcohol consumption, although there is also evidence that regular physical activity in adolescence does not affect alcohol consumption or even increases it. The aim of this survey is to know the habits of 656 4th year ESO schoolchildren (44.5% boys and 55.5% girls) in physical activity and alcohol consumption and the possible correlations that exist between these two habits according to the gender of respondents. The results show differences according to the sex of the respondents in both habits, with boys practicing more physical activity than girls and also consuming alcohol more frequently. On the other hand, no relationship was found between the practice of physical activity and alcohol consumption, both showing being independent.
