Abstract

Objective: To propose an intervention model to reduce cases of diarrhea, parasites and anemia in children under 5 years of age.

Method: This work has two parts, one diagnostic and the other is proactive. The first refers to an intervention program, pre-experimental design with pre and post test. 40 children participated. For the experimental group an intervention program was carried out. The effectiveness of the program was identified with the statistical test of T-Student and Mc Nemar, according to the normality test. The purposive part corresponds to the Intervention Model with strategies, based on the philosophical approach of the Dialectical Methodological Conception and the thinking of Enrique Pichón Riviére.

Results: In the diagnostic phase, in the case of anemia, the experimental group showed a decrease with a bilateral difference of 0.00 with p <0.05. In the case of intestinal parasitosis and diarrhea, the experimental group showed a decrease with a bilateral difference of 0.001 with p <0.05. The purposed phase corresponds to the intervention model whose pillars are: education and dialogue, behavioral change, empowerment and intersectoral management.

Conclusions: The intervention model with preventive strategies, based on the experience of the developed program, will allow to reduce cases of diarrhea, parasitosis and anemia in children under five years.

Ana Alberca Lonzoy, Peruvian Union University

Graduate in Nursing. She works as a nurse in the nursing service of the University Welfare department of the Universidad Peruana Unión.

Christine Anne Columbia, Peruvian Union University

Graduate in Nursing. She works in Misión Andina Central, Peru, as a nurse.

Mayela Cajachagua Castro, Peruvian Union University

Principal professor at the Universidad Peruana Unión attached to the Faculty of Health Sciences. She is currently a research teacher. She graduated in nursing from the National University Federico Villarreal and Universidad Mayor de San Simón. She has a Master's Degree in Public Health with a mention in Health Systems Management and a Doctorate in Education, with a mention in educational management. She is a teacher of research subjects and thesis advisor in undergraduate and graduate degrees in health sciences. Diplomas in University Teaching, Statistics for research and Qualitative research methodology. She has been head of the nursing department and supervisor at the Good Hope Clinic. She has held various administrative positions at the Adventist University of Bolivia. At the national level in Peru she has been Vice President of ASPEFEEN (Peruvian Association of Faculties and Schools of Nursing) At UPeU she has served as Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Director of Social Projection and University Extension in the Tarapoto branch . She has served as Associate Director of Research at the Universidad Peruana Unión and research director of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Lima campus. During her tenure as dean, the publication of the Scientific Journal of Health Sciences has begun and the Scientific Society of Health Sciences Students (SOCES) has begun its activities. She is the author and co-author of several articles published in scientific magazines. She is co-author of the textbook “Scientific Research in Health Sciences” (in editorial process). She has been associate editor of the Department of Publications and Editorial Fund (book publishing) of UPeU and co-editor of the University Research Magazine (RIU) and University Notes. She is a speaker at national and international scientific events. She likes scientific research and develops work as a way to contribute to the improvement of educational quality, as well as the quality of life of human beings.
