  Doctor by profession, 1st and 2nd Degree Specialist in Organization and Administration in Public Health, Master in Administration and Public Health from the School of Public Health of Mexico. Doctor of Health Sciences and Doctor of Science. Titular Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba. Professor and Senior Researcher, Consultant and Emeritus of the Cuban National School of Public Health.
  President of the Honorary and Multidisciplinary Chair “Dr. Abelardo Ramírez Márquez” of the National School of Public Health for the Management of Health Systems and Services. Co-president of the Academic Council of MEDICC (US-Cuba Cooperation for Medical Education and Public Health). Award in Health Administration granted by the Pan American Health Organization in 2016. Award for Scientific Merit for Lifetime Work from the Ministry of Public Health in 2017.
  Director of the National School of Public Health, and President of the National Council of Scientific Health Societies. More than fifty years of management experience at all levels of the Cuban National Health System. Author and co-author of more than 25 books and various monographs, as well as numerous other scientific publications in high-impact journals, with extensive participation also in multiple national and international scientific events.
