Author Biography

Alejandra Salcedo-Monsalve, Antonio Nariño University Colombia

Director of the Medicine program of the Andean Area University Foundation, Valledupar headquarters, since 2018. She is a doctor and surgeon graduated from the Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario, a specialist in Clinical Toxicology from this same university and a Master in Education from the Santo Tomás University in Bogotá, Colombia.

She served for five years (2013 -2018) as Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Antonio Nariño University in Bogotá, Colombia. Her activity in teaching and academic management began at the Faculty of Medicine of the Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario in 2004, in this institution she served as academic secretary, director of postgraduate studies, head of medical education, accreditation coordinator and professor in the area of pharmacology and toxicology in medicine. She worked at the Clínica San Rafael University Hospital, as Head of Teaching and Research between 2010 and 2013.

In her clinical practice, she has been a toxicologist assigned to the Clínica del Country and an external advisor on safety, health and the environment for Compañía Agrícola Colombiana Ltda (Monsanto Colombiana, Inc.) and ARP Colseguros S.A.
